What is the carriers’ or mobile operators' role in enabling RCS for Business?

Carriers or mobile operators (also known as MNOs) are a key part of the RCS for Business ecosystem because they sign agreements with Google to activate RCS on their networks. Once that’s done, they take on responsibilities like billing. They also play a role in the RCS Agent verification and approval process, which helps ensure that businesses sending RCS are legitimate and trustworthy.

Carriers sign agreements with aggregators to allow the aggregators to send RCS for Business messages on their network, and now that Apple has started to roll out RCS support, carriers are also playing a role in Apple integration testing to ensure a good user experience between operating systems.
