Elastic SIP Trunking Release Notes 2026

This article contains information about new releases from Elastic SIP Trunking.

7/10/2026 - Identity Header pass-through

Sinch Elastic SIP Trunks may now enable their trunks to receive the STIR/SHAKEN Identity header. Sinch will continue to use the header to do STI-VS Verification, however instead of removing the header at the end of Verification, it will now be sent on to the customer's SIP Infrastructure. Additionally, once the Identity header has been enabled, you may also select to have us include a P-Attestation-Indicator and P-Origination-ID header which will just let you know what the call was attested with, and the origination ID of the sender.

6/12/2026 - Optional "X" headers

Sinch Elastic SIP Trunks may now include optional "X" headers placed into calls from their SIP trunk. Configure this under your trunks inbound call settings. Once done, all calls to your Sinch provided numbers will have that header and value placed into them.

6/10/2026 - Preferred locations

Sinch Elastic SIP Trunks may now select a preferred location that would like calls to be sent to them from. We use geo-DNS to select our routes if no preference is set on the endpoint.

5/27/2026 - Change to hunting SIP rejection codes

The Sinch Elastic SIP Trunking product hunts through endpoints in order of priority whenever the customer’s infrastructure rejects, or fails to respond to, a SIP Invite request.  Currently, the platform hunts on most SIP rejection codes.  Read more about the code hunting behavior here.

3/20/2026 - SIP REFER Support

Sinch Elastic SIP Trunking customers may now send SIP Refer messages from their endpoints after a call has been established. Learn how to use SIP Refer.

1/14/2026 - PIDF-LO Support

Sinch Elastic SIP Trunking customers may now send Presence Information Data Format – Location Object (PIDF-LO) information when making a call to 911 Emergency Services. This information is passed along to the 911 operator to provide more precise information as to the callers location.
